Before we endorse any candidate or measure, we do our homework. We review records, ask hard questions, and look for one thing: a genuine commitment to the safety of Newport Beach. Our PAC is bipartisan. Our only allegiance is to you and your family’s safety.

Why It Matters

Rhetoric Is Never Enough
When You Call 911.

Firefighters see firsthand why leadership matters. Right now, the neighborhoods with the city’s slowest fire and medical response sit outside the national four-minute standard. In the Port Streets, help is more than five minutes away.

That’s why your firefighters support relocating Fire Station 3 to the Newport Transportation Center site at 1550 Avocado Avenue. The move brings every one of those neighborhoods inside the four-minute standard, using existing resources and without a budget increase or a new station. Station 3 must be rebuilt regardless: the building is aging and no longer fits the way a modern fire company works.

The City Council studied the data and voted for it unanimously, twice: 6-0 on June 10, 2025 to seek OCTA’s support for the Avocado Avenue site, and 7-0 on July 28, 2026 to begin a formal agreement with OCTA. Joe Stapleton, Lauren Kleiman, and Erik Weigand made the responsible call before a crisis arrived. That’s the kind of leadership this endorsement is about.
